How to select the right Golf Ball?

Golf ball technology has helped many golfers to select a golf ball that is best suited for them. Whether you are amateur or a professional, the continuous development in golf ball technology will make you stay competitive for a longer time.

As a golfer, you consider the characteristics of a golf ball, when it moved from the golf tee. According to its performance (longer distance, duration, spin, etc), the golfer selects the golf ball. Here are few examples of the different types of golf balls:

The Top-Flite Strata golf ball: the improved durability of their urethane outer covers and making them thinner and firmer for added distance is the new feature. At the same time, advances in rubber systems allowed ball makers to design cores that were more energetic or "faster" for even more distance on shots hit with the longer clubs, while maintaining a nice soft feel.

Titlest's ProVI golf ball: it has less spin on the ball, which means it will hook and slice less so that the golfer may not only gain distance but also accuracy. The Titlest ball feature a second firm mantle layer that acts like a conduit during impact that transfers extra energy into the core for even more low-spin-derived distance. It provides extra firmness by adding the second core.

Nike's One golf ball: It has extremely become popular between mid and high handicap players because of the long shot distances. Nike has softened the covers and cores of the two-piece balls and aimed at a different demographic. The golf ball has given golfers with very slow swing speeds (some women, seniors, and juniors) more distance than ever.

In conclusion, golf ball technology has helped profesional and amateur golfers to improve their golf game in ever aspect (distance, accuracy, spin, etc). So next time you buy a golf ball remember all the different characteristics a ball has, go with the one that will improve your golf game and have fun!

  1. Yeah, people with low handicap are most likely to buy these types of balls(They usually don't lose balls haha).. All these different characteristics play an important role but I would also go with a bag of used balls haha..

  2. Interesting to hear about the development of the golf ball, it has come really far from the start when it was being made of wood. Through the history of golf isn’t it a changed ball (being made as a lighter version for example) that has been used the most frequently in cheating purposes?
