  2. Although perhaps Adidas are gaining some market share in golf shoes, I personally don´t see Adidas ever becoming as strong and leading golf shoe company as Footjoy. In my opinion, they are by far the best golf shoes in the market.

  3. I'm using Adidas, what i dont like is they do not look like golf shoes...but they are just as normal sport shoes, so just extremely comfortable to walk 5 hours with ;-)

  4. Personally I have used both Adidas and Footjoy golf shoes. Both are very comfortable and perfect for golf.

At the moment I'm using Adidas shoes and have to say that the brand is winning a strong position in the market because they have been investing hardly in golf technology. I strongly recommend people to try Adidas golf shoes because they are the most advanced nowadays..

  5. Im sorry, but for me all this technology in shoes is becoming a bit ridiculous.. I mean, the only true thing thats important is having a shoe that is comfortable and that keeps you dry for a rainy day out on the green fields ! If you find something that "looks cool" also, then lucky you, but i think people in general must stop thinking about which brand your favorite players use (dont get fooled by advertisers) and start looking for shoes that fits your foot the best.. It might help you to improve your game

  6. I wasn't sure where to put my thoughts regarding a really useful technology that Gold clubs should develop and use.... so taking on Jen's post i decided it to post what i think is an important issue under the Shoe technology debate which can be some what exaggerated.

Golf courses pose an incredible environmental problem, not only is the local flora replaced by the golf course but the maintenance is huge! So much water is wasted on a golf course every year. For example a statistic i came across shows that about 54,000 gallons are used per year per golfer per golf course!!!!!!!!!

    So there are 2 solutions....

    1. Use synthetic grass! But i would assume this is too much of a shocker so it can be rejected,

the next solution involves more technology and i am sure will come about soon.

    2. there are crops that are genetically modified to resist harsh conditions such as less water supply. Why not develop grass that doesn't need as much water? This is a win-win-win-win-win situation for the golf courses (less costs) for the golfers (less expensive memberships) for the companies producing it (new jobs, revenue) for the benefit of the world!

So instead of thinking of how to develop a driver that allows the ball to go 5 meters farther or shows that make your feet smell nice and feel comfortable why not develop useful type of technologies?

  7. I agree to what Claudio said, very touching words...

But regarding the synthetic grass - imagine, how much natural grass would be destroyed then. Taking into account how many golf courses exist in this world, imagine how much real grass that would be.

I think that there are maybe ways, how to not waist that much water. For example there could be the obligation for every golf course to have huge water tanks or deposits, with millions of liters that are filled up by rain water. Depending on the region that would make more or less sense, but there are also other possibilities. They could maybe also collect the water again and use it more than once...
